Wasel Pro VPN is managed by iElement BV which is located in the Netherlands. They are a leading VPN service in the middle east and are looking to expand into other markets. We were impressed by their client software and performance. The service is priced at $9.99 a month with discounts offered on quarterly, 6 month and annual terms. Wasel offers a wide range of payment options including PayPal and WebMoney.
VPN Client Software
- Wasel Pro offers a free VPN client for Windows. The software is very easy to use. Simply choose from the list of available servers and click connect. From there you’ll see an IP address listed along with the time you connected to the VPN server.
- Settings – set the client to automatically connect, run at system startup, reconnect automatically and auto select a server.
- Advanced settings – enable XML feed and choose to use VPN only over SSH.
- We only tested the Windows client. They have a Mac client as well that works with both 32 and 64 bit Mac OS X.
- iPhone, iPad, Android – Wasel Pro also developed apps for iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) and Android devices. The mobile apps are available free of charge to members.

Wasel Pro VPN Performance Testing
- United States speed test – after connecting to a VPN server in New York we tested our Internet speed and found it to be 31.63 Mbps download and 4.11 Mbps upstream.
- United Kingdom speed test – we also tested a connection to a VPN server in London and our Internet speed was 0.82 Mbps download and 1.27 Mbps upstream.
- Conclusion – Wasel Pro performed well in the US and slow in our UK speed tests. Note: you can expect any VPN to slow your connection some as the traffic is being encrypted.

Conclusion
Wasel Pro offers a nice VPN client. We appreciated the ease of use in selecting between servers in their Windows software. Along with the additional settings offered. Their network isn’t as large as some others for the price. Performance was good in the United States but lacked in the United Kingdom. We look forward to watching the growth of Wasel Pro and will update our review as they continue to add server locations.
