VPN service details:
- FrootVPN is an interesting story. The service was really first noticed after The Pirate Bay listed them on TPB home page. That drove over 100,000 users to the new VPN service. FrootVPN advertises free VPN which makes some people uncomfortable. That’s understandable since it takes a lot of money to run a privacy service. I would guess that FrootVPN will start charging customers in the near future. We’ll keep an eye on the service and see what happens next. For now we can’t vouch for FrootVPN because there just isn’t enough known about the company..

- When a service is free you can often bet the customer is the payment. Whether it’s your personal information or usage. We’re not saying that’s the case with FrootVPN but would be careful in trusting a free VPN service with no monetary incentive to protect your privacy. Perhaps FrootVPN is just offering free service to test their network. If so you can expect a paid service in the future.
